HPSI may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on HPSI or the hpsi.net; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of HPSI, or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of HPSI employees, users of our products or services, or members of the public. Security of Your Personal Information HPSI is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide in computer servers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities. When we transmit sensitive information (such as an account number) over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Use and Definition of Cookies At this time, HPSI and hpsi.net does collect cookies. Cookies are very small informational text files placed on your computer by a web page server when you visit a web site (if the computer accepts cookies) or are referenced if you have visited the site previously. A cookie is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. A cookie’s purpose is to tell the server that you returned to that web page. It is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. Cookies come in two varieties: "persistent" cookies and "session" cookies. Persistent cookies are kept on your hard disk, whereas session cookies are stored instead in your internet browser memory and thus are not saved when you exit your browser. Questions about cookies? Click here. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, cookies will allow you to take full advantage of some of hpsi.net’s future sales order tracking features, and we recommend that you leave them turned on. Network Security So that we can maintain the best possible protection on our Internet-facing servers, we do collect certain information that may personally identify your computer equipment. This information is collected to monitor abuse, misuse, and other illegal or immoral usage. Information may include, but not limited to, computer IP address, computer name, computer MAC address, and date and time of your usage of hpsi.net. Changes to This Statement HPSI will occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy statement. For material changes to this statement, hpsi.net will notify you by placing prominent notice on this hpsi.net website. Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this website are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1987 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act. If you choose to visit hpsi.net, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Notice, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the state of Hawaii.
